Duties and Functions
•
The development, modernisation and implementation of regulatory frameworks and
guidelines governing public service administration, in order to ensure:
• fairness and equity
• accountability
• elimination of all abuse of public resources
• The development and maintenance of a salary structure and other remuneration systems that meet the needs of the public sector and that are motivating, fair and non-discriminatory.
• Advisising on the formulation of policy and legislation concerning the payment of pensions and gratuities and implementing approved policies.
• Advising public service organisations on delivery systems that emphasise efficiency, effectiveness and quality.
• The development and implementation of monitoring systems that can detect and resolve problems of maladministration.
• Development of mechanisms for rewarding excellence in public service.
